Main idea

This is a house for a country with a cold climate because it has a winter garden with a swimming pool in it so it feels like you have summer all year round.

Looks

Beige/grey stone house with red/orange window frames. Partly inspired by this and this house. The window frames will be in red/orange wood inside as well which creates a warm, cosy felling instead of all white. The roof has moss on it. The front of the house has a functional (funkis) style and part of the winter garden is in one floor which is always beautiful in a cool way. Some windows are square shaped and gives the house a more mixed look when not all windows are in the same shape. I love squares, that is the most simple thing there is.

Practical

There is an elevator with doors just like the other doors in the house so it feels like a cosy home and not a hotel. All windows and glas doors have smart glass, witch is glass that can switch from transparent to frosty if you want privacy or less light. The windows has built in solar cells. The house of course also have central vacuum cleaner and air conditioning.

Entrance

If you walk in though the garage via the lock you don't have to see a boring laundry pile for example in the laundry room. The garage is attached to the house so you don't have to go out in the cold to get there. The house has an elevator for disabled people or for heavy suit cases.

Living room

There are many seatings in the living room and there is room for a extra deep sofa that feels comfortable to sleep in. Over the the livingroom it feels protected and cosy so it's not open up to the second floor like it is in the winter garden. The living room have privacy from the front of the house.

Dining

If you want to sit and eat by a table when watching TV you can do so at the dinner table.

Kitchen

Of course it's lovely with kitchen islands so you can cook and talk to people in the living room at the same time. There is a countertop trash chute, big built in rubbish bins and a big sinks for when several people are cooking.

Office

We spend a lot of time in front of the computer these days so it's nice with an office where you are close to the living room were people mostly hang and you can glance at the TV in the living room now and then.

Porch

The porch is under roof and has room both for a sofa set and dinner table.

Winter garden

This is a room that is supposed to feel like the outside as much as possible with shylights creating light and one part of the winter garden has high ceiling so it feels spacious. Between the sauna and the winter garden there is an aquarium so you feel calm when watching the fish swim at the same time as you can watch the beautiful view in the backyard. The hot tub is round beacuse it feels more natural when people sit in a circle. A fountain in the corner for a realxing sound. There is a endless pool, which means the water can be turned on to flow so you can swim forever even though the pool is not so long.

Second floor

In the corridor there are two sliding doors, one to close to the winter garden and one to make the master bedroom and one of the bathrooms into a ensuite. From the other bedrooms floor you don't have to walk through big social rooms like the TV room when going disheveled to the bathroom. Carpeting floor in all rooms on the second floor except the hallway/balcony in the winter garden. One bathroom has a bathtub if you want to bath small kids or yourself, the hot tub in the pool room is for more people. French balcony in the hallway for airing beddings. The two master bedroom you can choose from are both soundproof for hanky panky.

Second TV room

On the second floor there is a TV-room with a door you easily can close so you don't bother the people downstairs with the TV sound or get disturbed yourself. And the narrow window to the winter garden makes the room feel less trapped, but the window is not too big so you feel like an animal in a cage.

Basement

In the sound proof hobby room it can get as lound and messy as you want. It has a soft plastic carpet for working out, playing and for any accidents to happen. Extra high ceiling so kids can play and climb. One wall is painted with a whiteboard painting in some cool color and one wall has a wallpaper of the world map. There is a bathroom for guests sleeping over. Many people can sleep over on the big bed and it has a loft over which is fun to kids to climb up to that also has a hut which also works as a bed. A stepladder can be pulled out to the lofts big window for emergencys. Under the staircase is a playhouse so you don't have to have a one outside that makes the garden look messy. I want the garden to be as simple, natural and easy to take care of as possible.

Site

I think this house would fit nicely on this plot in Sweden that I once saw for sale. After tearing down the small houses on it of course. On this plot the garage might have to be a little higher and the winter garden a little lower than the rest of the house though, just by putting in a couple of steps. In the summer at 10:00 PM (22.00) you still get sun on the porch.
